We are Jim Young & Gail Andren, JAG for short, who share a passion for our return to the rural roots we came from. On a trip to Sheridan, Wyoming in 1999 to visit friends the hand of fate grabbed our hearts in a little town called Roberts, Montana and our odyssey began....
Dreams really DO come true.
After almost 6 years of planning, we implemented our goal to move to our property in Montana in August of 2005. We are happy to say it was well worth the wait. Our ranch is only 13 miles from Red Lodge and 80 miles from Yellowstone National Park, via the Beartooth Hwy the most scenic highway in America. The 20 acres here provide a comfortable environment for our beloved Alpacas and we are commited to raising high quality alpacas by bringing powerful genetics to Montana.
The Rainbows End
Whatever your Alpaca needs or wants, Beartooth Alpaca Ranch can provide the proverbial gold at the end of the rainbow. We volunteered at an alpaca ranch in Washington to learn first hand, from poop to profit, the Alpaca business. There was extensive research, a college course at the University of Washington, countless farm visits, endless hours of field observations, learning to shear, toe nail trimming, giving shots, alpaca handling/training and fleece processing from skirting to knitting, all of which we do ourselves. We are equipped to assist new or existing Alpaca owners enjoy this wonderful lifestyle.
